In the sidelines of inauguration of Niger President-elect, Mohamed Bazoum, First Vice President (FVP) of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, has met the African Union Commission (AUC) headperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat .
The FVP lauded the great role of the AUC in dealing with the African continent issues.
The FVP briefed the AUC Chairperson on the developments in Sudan, especially on the implementation of the peace agreement and the formation of the transitional period government with the participation of the Armed Struggle Movements., pointing out to the formation of the joint forces to protect the civilians after the UNAMID exit, affirming the government’s capability to protect the civilians.
Daglo said that the government has taken the necessary measures aiming at the repatriation of the IDPs and refugees to their home villages.
For his part, AUC Chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat hailed the efforts of the Sudanese government in achieving stability in the country, affirming the support of the AU to all the steps related to the implementation of the peace agreement besides the efforts to engage the non-signatory movements in the peace process.
