Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, who chairs Sudan's Economic Emergency Committee, has received in his office at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday a delegation from the Rain-Fed Farmers Association.
During the meeting, participants discussed challenges facing the sector and the need to focus on efforts to promote productivity during this year's agricultural season.
Graig Kambal Adam, the deputy chairman of the association, stressed that the meeting was frank and transparent, and addressed all relevant challenges facing Sudanese farmers.
One major obstacle this year, he said, is the advance payment price for the agricultural season; another is the diesel and gasoline price. However, Adam lauded the vice president’s successful efforts to resolve these issues, which otherwise, he clarified, could prove prohibitive for some farmers.
